Monaghan lost to Armagh today (Saturday) in the Ulster Minor Football League Group A. Monaghan had the better of the first half and they led by 0-6 to 1-1 after 22 minutes, but Armagh got a goal back to cut the gap to two points at half-time (0-7 to 1-2). Monaghan still led by a point midway through the second half, but two goals in the final quarter for Armagh saw them run out winners on a scoreline of 3-7 to 0-9. Best on the day for Monaghan were Mel Boyce, Pádraig McKenna, Johnny McGuigan and Fergal McGeough. Monaghan’s final group game is away to Cavan next Saturday.
