Three Monaghan footballers have been named in the Ulster Bank Rising Stars team for 2011. Conor Galligan of Monaghan Harps, Donal Morgan from Scotstown and Clontibret’s Conor McManus were all chosen on the team, which is selected from performances in the third-level Sigerson Cup.

The Monaghan trio all helped UUJ in their run to the final where they lost to UCC, who had eight players on the ‘Rising Stars’ team. Galligan was picked at left corner-back, while UUJ captain Morgan was selected at centre-back and McManus got the nod at full-forward. Well done to all three.
