Senior League

We open our senior league campaign with an away match against Latton on Sunday week, 17th April at 2.30pm, which is followed by another away game against the Harps the following Wednesday.  

Reserve League Division 1

Clontibret 0-14, Harps 1-06. We started slowly in this game but improved as the game went on and played well to carve out a solid victory and secure two more points in the league. Team and scorers: Arthur Morgan, Kieran Greenan, Padraig McGuigan, Donal Carragher, Fergal Greenan, Colin Duffy, Fergal McGuigan (0-2), Daithi McKeown, Pauric Boyle (0-1), Johnny McKenna (0-2), Fergal O’Dowd (0-1), Philip Rooney, Ryan McGuigan (0-6), Padraig McShane, Ronan Murphy (0-2).  On Saturday evening we have a home game against neighbours Cremartin at 7pm.

 

Reserve League Division 3

Clontibret 1-09, Clones 0-07. The team picked up their first victory with a good performance against Clones on Sunday morning last. Team and scorers: Declan Savage, Brian McSkane, Brian Morgan, Christopher Fanning, Lorcan Murphy, Donal Carragher, Philip Rooney, Kieran Greenan, Fergal Greenan (0-2), Paul Winters (0-3), Fergal O’Dowd (1-2), Darren Murphy, Aiden Leonard, Padraig McShane (0-1), Shane Murphy. Subs: Damien Moen (0-1), Kevin McSkeane, Kevin Gormley, Thomas Greenan. Tomorrow evening, Friday, we play Killeevan away at 7pm.

Minor League

Clontibret 5-04, St. Patrick’s 1-12. After a shaky start against the Ballybay / Drumhowan combination, the boys recovered well, and four first half goals gave them a half time lead that they managed to hold on to at the end. We played the Harps on Tuesday gone by. Result next week. Next Tuesday we have a home game against Emyvale at 7pm.

 

U16 League

The u16 league gets underway this day week, 14th April with a home tie against ‘Blayney at 7pm.

 

U14 Championship

Next up for the u14s is the championship with the Division 2 team again taking on Truagh in Truagh this Saturday at 12pm, while the Division 5 team got a bye in their first round of the championship. All players assemble at Community Centre for 10.50am. Best of luck to the boys.

U12 Challenge Match

There is a challenge match this evening, Thursday at 6.30pm for the u12 team against Truagh. Players to be at the field for 6pm.

U10 / Nursery

It is hoped that the Nursery / u10s will start during the month of April. All new players and families in the area are very welcome to come along and join in. For this to be a success we will need the help of parents and volunteers. Please contact Fergal Mone on 0872242726 if you would like to help out.

National League Forecasts

Last week’s winner was Ronan Murphy with 52 points. All sellers are asked to make a big effort for the final couple of weeks.

GAA History

Monaghan GAA Board are seeking two or three people from each club who would take part in the People’s History Project. Participants would attend a series of workshops on Historical Research enabling them to make contributions to match programmes, yearbooks, GAA websites etc. Anyone interested in putting their name forward contact club secretary, Frank on 85336.

Development Committee Meeting

There will be a Development Committee meeting in the clubrooms this evening, Thursday in the clubrooms at 9.30pm.
