Texas Hold’em Poker – The Texas Hold’em night in Corrigans Kitchen is now only a week away and with 40 tickets already played for it looks as if there is going to be a bumper attendance on the night. Satellite games are being played in Seans, Corrigans, The Shebeen, Ballymac and other venues locally. There will be a minimum prize fund of €2500 and tickets are priced at €50. Tickets/information contact Bob 087 6025027 or Stephen 087 2246579.

Junior B – The Bs defeated Truagh 4-08 to 1-06 last Saturday evening. On a chilly evening not suited for football they toiled in the first half before a late first half goal from Gerry Brady gave them a six point lead and the held Truagh off comfortably in the second half. Good performances came from Gerry Brady, Gareth Duffy and a new look Paddy Conlon. A busy period for the Bs continues tonight (Thursday) with a home fixture against Latton (8.00PM) and next Wednesday night they face Scotstown, again at home (7.00PM)

Junior C – The Junior Cs survived a fright before overcoming Killanny 2-08 to 0-12 on Sunday morning. They played really poorly in the first half and were indebted to Gerry Brady for 2 goals which saw them reach half time on level terms. A quick start to the second half saw them move two ahead but they switched off again and trailed by two points with 15 minutes left. Paddy Conlon then took over at midfield and four unanswered points from Paddy, Fergal Duffy, Jack Deasy and David McMahon saw them over the finishing line. This weekend they make the short trip to Blackhill on Friday evening (7.00PM).

Minors – Short five or six regulars the minors had a disappointing start to the season when they lost to Scotstown 0-10 to 1-05 last Tuesday evening. They played Emyvale on Tuesday night of this week (result and match report next week) and next Tuesday evening they travel to Truagh (7.00PM).
