St Mellans Social Club Darts Tournament: takes place this Sunday in St. Mellans at 6pm. All are welcome.

Registration: Membership for 2011 is now due at €20 and must be paid before the end of this month. Membership can be paid at St. Mellans this Sunday between 7-9pm with Gerard McKenna (086 3463952).

Juvenile Registration & Membership: will take place this Sunday 20th March in St. Mellans at 7pm. Any player (9 years or older) who has not already registered with Croke Park is required to pay a once off payment of €5. Please bring a copy of you child’s birth cert for first time registration per child. Juvenile membership for all our juveniles is also payable this Sunday at a cost of €10 per child or €20 per family of children.

Big Screen Live Action: This Saturday night the bar will open early for the national league live screening of Down v Monaghan. Throw in is 7.30pm.

Seniors: Our next senior game is fixed for Sunday 27th March at home to Scotstown. TI is 5pm.

Reserve B: We drew with Cremartin 1-7 to 0-10 in our first game of the league campaign. Although disappointed with not coming home with a win, we fought back to earn a draw in the second half after being down 0-7 to 0-3 at half time. Our team and scorers were: Ian Treanor; Darren Todd, Paddy McKenna, Mike Treanor; Eoghan Kelly, John McCarron (0-1), Michael McCrudden; Niall McQuillan, Ciaran Feely; Ciaran Treanor, Paul Donaghue (0-3f), Brendan Treanor (1-0); Sean McKenna (0-3f), Gary Meehan, John Treanor. Subs Used: Niall Treanor for Paddy McKenna, Alan McKenna for Mike Treanor. Gary Todd temporary blood sub. Our next game is at home to Magheracloone next Sunday at 2.30pm.

Reserve Div. 3 (C’s): Our game on Saturday last was postponed due to the adverse weather. Our next game is at home to Scotstown on Sunday 27th March at 3.15pm which is a double header with the senior game.

Reserve Div. 4 (C2’s): Our first game of the season takes place on St. Patricks Day, Thursday 17th March, at 12pm away to Aghabog.

€10,000 Lotto Jackpot winner: Congratulations to Padraig McAloon-Brookeborough who received his lotto winning cheque of €10,000 in St. Mellans last weekend. Also well done to Mickey Brady-Shanco who picked up the sellers prize. There was no winner of this week’s jackpot. The lucky numbers were 4, 5, 8, 10. There were 6 match 3 winners, each receiving €35: Ailish O’Murucha, Cillian McKenna-c/o Terrys, Cilvan Good-c/o Terrys, JOHNNY Meehan-c/o Jacks, Rory Treanor-Mullinderg, Brendan Donaghue. The jackpot now stands at €1,200. Check team: Ursula.

Get Well Soon: to regular match supporter, Seamus McKenna (Charley), who is in hospital at this time.

U16s: Training continues as per management.

U15s: are taking part in the football blitz under lights in Cloghan this Friday 11th march at 7pm in Cloghan.

U14s: Training Monday & Thursday in St Mellans at 7pm. We play our first league game at home this Saturday at 12.00pm against Clontibret.

U12s: Training Monday & Fridays in St. Mellans 6.30-7.30pm.

Marquee Event: Keep free the May bank holiday weekend where the big tent comes to St. Mellans. Saturday night, 30th April, Declan Nerney is the headlining event, while Sunday 1st May is top entertainment from More Power to Your Elbow.

Camogie:

Training: continues tomorrow evening, Friday, at 6.30pm and again on Monday at 8pm. 

County Blitz: takes place on Sunday the 10th of April.  Could everyone please make sure they are available.

Ladies Football:

Training : This Saturday at 6.30pm and next Wednesday at 7.45pm in St.Mellans. All girls are asked to make a huge effort to attend both. 

Well Done: to Monaghan Ladies on a great victory over Galway at the weekend.

U-12’s: Training this Saturday 19th March in St. Mellans at 12am.

U-14’s: Training this Sunday 20th March in St. Mellans at 11am.

Handball:

Club Singles: in both divisions are reaching the final stages. In Division 1, Christopher(pj) McKenna plays either Padraig McKenna or Michael McCarron. The Div2 has not reached the final stage yet. Please insure all games are played up to date. Double’s are now drawn up and are soon coming. 

Juveniles: We have the juveniles divided up into groups and will soon be notifying the players what nights and times they will be on. We hope this will give the players more handball time and will improve their skill levels.
