Monaghan’s Under-21 footballers lost to Tyrone in the Shamrock Cup Final on Wednesday night, while the seniors fell just short away to Cork in the Allianz National Football League Division One on Sunday.
In the Ulster Club Senior Hurling League, Castleblayney had a one-point win away to Rasharkin from Antrim in Group 4A, while Truagh were edged out by the same margin in Carryduff (Down) in Group 5A and Carrickmacross were beaten by Donegal’s Four Masters. In the Ulster Club Intermediate Football League, Éire Óg lost at home to Steelstown (Derry) in Group A and Rockcorry beat Patrick Sarsfields from Belfast in Group D. Seán McDermotts conceded their game against Ardoyne.
