Seniors: We kicked off our league campaign with a defeat to Tyholland on Sunday last. It was a tight start with time in possession at a premium. Both teams failed to convert early chances but that wasnt to continue. Tyholland got the first score through a converted free but their lead didnt last long as Eire og hit back straight away with 2 quick points. Tyholland then hit the back of the net with a fisted effort with more than a hint of square ball. The Tyholland keeper then had a rush of blood when dragging Johnny McMahon down for a penalty. It was duely dispatched to level matters. We then had a purple patch and hit the net again after a high ball was punched to the Tyholland net. Half Time Tyholland 1-3 Eire Og 2-3. We started off the 2nd half were we left off the first with another score but after that we lost our way. Tyholland hit 2 quickfire goals after bottling us up in defence. We came back into the game and again found the back of the Tyholland net but where unable to get back on level terms. We can take a lot from large parts of performance but must address other areas. Final Score Tyholland 3-12 Eire Og 3-08

Poker Classic: We held our Poker Classic in the Skule Inn on Wednesday last. A good turn out made for a good evening with over a 100 taking part and several onlookers. The games went well into the night and everyone involved enjoyed themselves, some more than others! Congratulations to everyone who went home with a few extra euros in their pocket and those who didnt dont worry as we hope to make it an annual event so they will get their chance to get their money back next year.
Fixtures: The seniors play Corduff under lights on Friday at 7.30 in Corduff. The Junior B’s finally get going against Aghabog on Saturday in Aghabog at 4pm.
