Clontibret

Sympathy

The death of Mary Smyth, Moys, marks the end of an era of the Smyth family’s association with the club going back for over 100 years. Mary’s father Ned and uncle Joe were founder members of the club back in the early years of the last century and when the modern club was formed in the 1940s her brothers, Eamon and Tommy were also to the fore, while her other brother Joe was one of the outstanding players of his generation. Sympathy is extended to Mary’s sister, Carmel, and the Carville family and all her other friends and relatives.

There will be a meeting for all parents of players involved in this year’s u14 team this evening, 10th March in the club at 8pm. It is very important that each child is represented as we are outlining the new format and plans for the year ahead.

Well done to all involved in the u13 blitz that took place last Thursday under lights in Cloghan. The team acquitted themselves well and narrowly lost the final by a point. Thanks to Jonathan McGuigan who managed the panel on the night.
