Aughnamullen Notes

LOTTO numbers drawn for Sunday last were 19, 12, 5, 2. There was no winner.
Lucky Dip winners were Joe Duffy, Tina Duffy, Tommy Flanagan, John Sheridan, Owen Connolly, Debra & Mel Mc Eneaney, Margeret Mc Nally, Teresa Connolly, Bridie Duffy and the Mc Cabe family. Next weeks jackpot stands at €9,500 and the draw will take place next Sunday night in the Social Centre.
 
SENIORS training will take place on Thursday morning at 11.30am. On Saturday we travel to Rockcorry for the first league game of the year. Throw in is at 3pm. All players to be in Rockcorry at 2pm. Could everyone make an effort to come along and support the lads.
 
JUNIOR B`S played their first game on Saturday last against Clontibret. Following a sluggish start they trailed by 3 points at the break with the highlight of the first half being a fine individual score from full back Thomas Finnegan. H/T score, Aughnamullen (0-3) Clontibret (0-6). Things started to improve in the second half and a goal from the evergreen Paul Mulligan levelled the scores. The game remained nip and tuck from then on and some good long range scores from Lauren Ward kept the scoreboard ticking whilst Mark Mc Ardle, Colin Clerkin and Mickey Keenan kicked some nice scores to help Aughnamullen pull away in the closing stages. Final Score Aughnamullen (1-8) Clontibret (0-9). Next up is a home game against Killeevan on Saturday March 26th at 4pm.  
 
MINOR training continues on Monday nights at 8pm sharp. All players are asked to attend.
 
UNDER 16`S has a challenge game on Thursday at 12 noon. All players to be at the field at 11.15am. Anyone who cant attend let Gerard, Brian or Lee know as soon as possible.
 
UNDER 14`S is away to Latton on Saturday at 12 noon. All support welcome. 
 
MEMBERSHIP needs to be paid as soon as possible. Could all players make sure they are paid up members. Adult €20, family €40 and U18`s €5.
 
TICKET MONEY could all outstanding dinner dance ticket money be returned to a committee member a.s.a.p.  
 
WELL DONE to Eoin “SKINNY” Sheridan who fought a great fight at the Oram Fight Night on Saturday night last.
 
CEARA WOMANS GROUP is holding a St Patricks concert on Friday night in the Centre and all funds raised are going towards the walking track. Doors open at 8pm and the concert commences at 8.30 sharp. Admission is €10 and all performances come from local talent. All support would be very much appreciated.
 
TRADITIONAL MUSIC sessions are being held in the Centre every second Friday night with 24 young folk in attendence on the last night. Well done to Ronan and all the young musicians for keeping traditional music alive within the parish. 
 
CONGRATULATIONS to Padraig and Elaine Ward on the birth of their baby girl, Mia.
