Presentation Night: Our annual presentation night is being held this Saturday 19th February in St. Mellans at 9.30pm. There will be medal presentations to the successful minor, U-21 and Over 35 teams of last year. Awards will also be presented to players of the year in adult grades and to newly weds. The ladies football club, hurlers and camogie club will also be making presentations recognising their achievements of the last year.
Lotto Jackpot now €9,600: There was no winner of last week’s jackpot. The lucky numbers were 1, 4, 9, 23. Coaching Course: The coaching resumes in St. Mellans this Thursday evening at 8pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
U14s: Training starts this Saturday at 2.00pm in St Mellans. Anyone who put there name forward as a juvenile mentor for this year are asked to attend a short meeting in St Mellans Thur night @ 9.00pm after coaching course.
Well Done: to the Truagh Ladies Football club who were awarded Monaghan Ladies club of the year.
Big Screen Action: Arrive early for the presentation night with the live football screening of Dublin v Cork on the big screen in St. Mellans. Throw in is 7.30pm and the bar is open early for the viewing.
St Mellans Social Club Darts Tournament: is scheduled to begin in March. A new board has been erected in the lounge, throwing practice is recommended and everyone is welcome to join in.

Handball:
Club Singles: Competitions Div1 and Div2 are now up and running. All game details are on notice boards in St.Mellans.
Novice 1 competition: The Novice 1 competition semi-finals with Ian Treanor, Eamon Todd and Christopher(pj) are to be played shortly.
Minor competition: In the minor competition match between Fergal O’Neill and Padraig Mc Kenna is still to be played while Christopher Mc Kenna lost to Terry Mc Elvaney from the Harps in the other semi-final.
Juveniles: are still being coached on Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 6pm. With new players still joining us on a weekly basis we will have be re-assessing the schedule shortly in how we coach these players.
County Doubles: We also have entered teams in the county Doubles from U12’s up to U16’s, Names participating are displayed on the bottom notice board outside the glass alley. The county board have decided to run an U11 county competition after the success of last year’s competition. We have entered several players into this competition. This will give our younger players a taste of county championships.
Good luck: to Ryan Treanor and Niall Rooney who represent the county U16 Doubles in St Paul in Belfast this Sunday.
Camogie:
AGM: Thank you to all who attended our AGM last Friday. Our chairperson, Deirdre Mc Carron, opened the meeting by welcoming eveyone and Secretary Maretta Sherry gave a detailed report of 2010.
The following officers were elected: Chairperson Deirdre Mc Carron, Vice Chairperson Sharon Mc Quillan, Secretary Maretta Sherry, Vice Secretary Joanne Meehan, Treasurer Bridget Mc Carron, Vice Treasurer Lorraine Mc Kenna, P.R.O Orla Mc Meel, Players Representative Orla Mc Meel.
Players Meeting: We will be having a players meeting on Saturday the 26th of February at 7pm. Could everyone please attend and encourage others to attend. New players are always welcome so dont be shy.
Presentation night: is being held this Saturday night. The player of the year will be announced while Siobhan, Sharon, Mary and Orla will be presented with their all Ireland medals. We encourage everyone to attend.

Thanks: To everyone who supported our table quiz last week. All attendance and donations made were very much appreciated.
Welcome: We would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new senior manager for 2011, Joey Kelly, Aghabog. We wish him all the best for the coming season.
Congratulations: To Caoimhe Mohan on receiving her college All Star with O’Dowd Cup and also a school all Star which she will receive this Friday. Well done.
