Shamrock Cup Under-21 Football Final
Monaghan v Tyrone, Wednesday, 7.45, Emyvale
Monaghan’s Under-21 footballers will be attempting to retain the Shamrock Cup when they take on Tyrone in the final under lights in Emyvale on Wednesday evening.
Monaghan beat Tyrone on Saturday, giving them their third successive win, following victories over Down and Fermanagh, while Tyrone also beat the Mourne and Erne counties to book their place in the final. Many of these players were involved in minor football in 2008, when Tyrone beat Monaghan in the Ulster final en route to All-Ireland success.
Both teams could feature players with senior county experience, as Colin Walshe, Christopher McGuinness, Kieran Duffy and Dermot Malone are eligible for Monaghan, while Tyrone could have the likes of Peter Harte, Niall McKenna, Mattie Donnelly and Ryan Pickering.
