Our presentation night for the Junior Football League winning team, will take place on Saturday 5th February. This promises to be a good night, with tickets for buffet and entertainment keenly priced @€12:50. The tickets can be purchased from any committee member.
Team Affairs:
With 5 training sessions already overseen, the cobwebs are well and truly dispensed off, rumour has it that there were a couple of players putting in an extra effort at training, and I am led to believe will lend their services to the local farmers to help cover silo pits in the long evenings of summer. Please have plenty of tractor and lorry tyres ready for them!!! Although not yet confirmed there is a strong possibility that the reserve leagues will commence on the last weekend of February and Intermediate county league on the first weekend in March.
Ulster Intermediate League:
The first outing is away to Foreglen, Co Derry; on Saturday 5th Febrauary @ 2pm. Foreglen is approximately 4 miles from Dungiven. All support greatly appreciated, but no penalty points coming back down the road for the Presentation Night!!
Congratulations:
Congratulations to Stephen Hagan on receiving his award for Juvenile referee of the year on Saturday night week last, an award which was fully deserved. On behalf of the club I would like to thank all those who supported Stephen, by attending the awards night. Anybody interested in taking up refereeing should contact the Chairman, Gerry Lynch as referee courses will be beginning soon. With nearly 800 juvenile matches alone to be refereed throughout the county this year, it is very important we have enough referees.
