Meanwhile, the Monaghan ladies footballers continued their winning start to the season with a 3-13 to 1-8 victory away to Mayo.
It was a decent weekend for Monaghan’s representatives in the Ulster Club Intermediate Football League. Seán McDermotts beat Buncrana from Donegal by 2-8 to 1-8 in Group C on Saturday, while Éire Óg got a walkover from Moneymore in Group A. Rockcorry drew with Dundrum (Down) in Group D on Sunday
