Handball:

Mono League: The Mono League final took place on Saturday last between The Cheeky Girls and The Sugarbabes. First in the alley were Joe Kelly and Aidan Keenan with Joe coming out on top 21-12, 21-14.  Richard O Reilly then beat John Treanor 21-5, 21-6. In the 3rd parings Fergal O Neill defeated Greg Finnegan in an electrifying match 21-12, 21-10. Fourth up were Peter McCartan and Michael Treanor where both shared games 21-15, 9-21. The final pairing were the hard hitting No.1’s of Ian Treanor and Christopher McKenna. This game had plenty of everything: hard hitting, passing shots, kills. Christopher took the first game 21-9 and going into the final game Ian was under pressure to reach the 12 points needed for victory. Both players were exchanging points early on until Christopher pulled away, but on 8 points Ian accumulated 4 rapid points to secure the title for The Cheeky Girls.

The battle to avoid the prize of the wooden spoon between The Pussycat Dolls and The Saturdays took place in alley 1. Shane and Eoin Treanor took to the maple and shared games 21-17 and 21-15. Next was Pauric McKenna and Peadar McCluskey again sharing the games 21-10, 21-6. Jonathon McKenna and Barry Treanor shared their game 21-4, 21-6. Finally in a mixture of experience and youth between Michael Mc Carron and Keith Sheerin, Michael won out 21-16, 21-8. The Pussycat Dolls were subsequently handed the wooden spoon. We wish to thank Anna-Rose for laying on the food and for J(Bart)T for the kitty behind the bar resultant from a small business venture that reaped rewards.

Juveniles: continue as per normal Tuesday and Thursdays @6pm.

Alley Bookings: Please note that St. Mellans will be hosting Ulster and some college games in the coming weeks so all players adults and juveniles be careful when booking alleys.  We hope to have any bookings written into the booking charts if we receive enough notice of the time and dates of the games.
