Sean Mac Diarmada Notes 13-01-11
Dates for Your Diary:
Friday 4th February – Co Monaghan Scor Semi-Finals
Saturday 5th February – Dr Ward Cup Winning Team Presentation Night
Friday 25th February – Jubilee Mass
Presentation Night:
Saturday 5th February is the date set for the presentation night to the Junior Football League winning team. This promises to be a good night, with tickets for buffet and entertainment keenly priced. The tickets can be purchased from any committee member over the next few weeks.
Management Team:
It is with great delight that the club executive can announce the Intermediate management team for 2011. Team manager of Gary Larkin, selector in chief; Colm Mc ,Mahon and team trainer Paul Lennon. Paul is going to fill the large shoes (runners) vacated by our outgoing trainer Noel Melvin. Noel switched codes on 2010 with consummate ease. His dedication, installation of self belief, attention to detail and positivity to the panel last year will not be forgotten in a hurry by this bunch of players, he reminds me that he is still available in Rossmore and maybe a little further, for those early Sunday morning runs, so no excuses not to knock the cobwebs of those old runners!!!
Jubilee Year Celebrations:
The jubilee year celebrations will commence on Friday 25th February with mass in St Mary’s Church, and light refreshments will be served in the complex immediately after. This will be the first part of a series of celebrations throughout the year. More details later.
Juveniles:
With the New Year well and truly upon us, Enda has extended an open invitation to all those who would like to assist in any way with coaching and mentoring any juvenile team in the coming year. He intends to hold a meeting on the last Saturday in January, so please inform him in the meantime. All help is appreciated, so that the burden does not fall on a few.
