Farney Barney: On the 28th December the Fiddlers elbow Carrickmacross hosted the second Farney Barney. The night was a great success mainly due to the boxers who had given their time in training and on the night and to everyone who purchased tickets as without them the electric atmosphere would not have been possible. The results and boxers on the night included Francis Mc Bride defeated Gavin King of Doohamlet over 3 rounds, Corduff’s Donal Crosson overcame Noel “The Hulk” Rodgers from Knockbride. Eugene “The Finn” Finnegan defeated Rory “The Hammer” Murphy of Oram. It was then the turn of Magheracloone’s Padraig “The Tiger” Doogan and Niall “ Rambo ” Finnegan of Toome to enter the ring, after a great three rounds Niall Finnegan defeated the Mitchells man. Then it was the ladies turn, Corduff’s Bernice “Dynamite” Mc Nally took on Magheracloone Lindsey “Lights Out” Murray after a tough encounter it was announced a draw. Paul Kirk of Magheracloone was defeated by Inniskeen’s Mickey “The Stinger” Fee. After an intense three rounds between Brendan Daly of Killanny and Seanie “The Beard” Farrelly of Kingscourt Daly was crowned winner. Declan “The Gael” Larkin put up a very sharp performance to dispose of the challenge of Peter “Raging Bull” Mills from Killanny. The next bout provided great entertainment and ended all square between Peter Owen Fealy and Brian Pat Owen Finnegan. Aughnamullen’s Pete “Powerhouse” Dooney took on Corduff’s Keith Mc Enaney, after a very close 3 rounds Keith came out on top. In the final bout of the night Corduff’s Christopher Mc Enaney was against James “Tequila Sunset” Mc Geown of Carrickmacross, Mc Geown came out the winner.

Monaghan Awards Night: Corduff’s Declan Larkin is being awarded Junior Player of the Year at the Annual Monaghan Awards on Saturday 22nd January in the Hillgrove Hotel Monaghan. Special guest on the night will be Michéal Ó Muireartaigh, Tommy Mc Ardle and the 1985 Ulster Senior Football Championship winning team. Gráinne Mc Elwain (TG4) will be MC on the night. Imported Belgium Blue Heifer Raffle: The Winner of Susie our imported Belgium Blue Heifer was Seymour Crawford TD, second prize of a weekend in the Slieve Russell was won by Ryan Walsh from Killanny and Patsy Connolly won third prize of two tickets to Boyzone. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets also to everyone who sold tickets. This would not of been such a success without all your help.
Monster 25 Card Drive: Due to popular demand the Monster 25 Card Drive has returned. Heats are currently taking place. The Grand Final on Sunday 20TH February will have a prize money of €4000.
