Sean Gael Night

Sean Gael Night, a night for all associated with the club as player, member, official or supporter during the 40s, 50s or 60s, will take place in the clubrooms on Friday, 25th February. Features of the night will include video clips from past games including the 1954 and 1958 finals, food, music and craic. Anyone with relevant video clips or photographs are asked to make them available for the night. Please contact any of the committee members regarding this. Current club members are asked to make former members, players and supporters in their area aware of this event and encourage them to attend what should be a memorable night.

Dinner Dance

Tickets for club’s Presentation Dinner Dance which will take place in the Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday, 12th February, are now available from committee members and in the clubrooms.

Hall of Fame Award

Congratulations to Benny Mone on being inducted into the Monaghan GAA Hall of Fame on Saturday night last at the annual Monaghan County Board Awards Night. Benny was one of the club’s most gifted players, winning county championships in 1958 and 1968. He played with distinction for Monaghan for many years and on the Ulster Railway Cup winning team of 1960. He has been involved in team management in both club and county level and is currently club Vice-President. Congratulations also to Dessie Mone who was presented with his Railway Cup medal from 2007 at the function on Saturday night.

‘Know Your Sport’ Table Quiz

The annual ‘Know Your Sport’ table quiz organised by the hurlers will take place in the clubrooms on Friday, 4th February at 9pm. Anyone interested in sponsoring spot prizes should contact a club member and this support will be gratefully received.

Club Membership

Club membership must be renewed for 2011 before 31st March. It is important that all players renew their membership before the playing season begins. Please give €20 to club registrar, Tommy G.

National League Forecast

It’s that time of year again when the National Leagues get underway. The club has decided to undertake what turned out to be a very successful fundraising venture last year, raising much needed revenue. The co-ordination of this fundraising event will be undertaken by Niall Brennan. Forecasts are only €2. Make sure to help out the club by purchasing on a weekly basis.

Coaching

Any one interested in taking part in coaching courses in Foundation Level, Level 1 and Level 2 during the months of January, February and March please contact Fergal Mone, Martin Corey and Owen Joe McKeown.

Juvenile Training
