There were mixed fortunes for Monaghan teams in Ulster club action over the weekend. Corduff ensured that the Ulster Club JFC title will spend the winter in Monaghan for the third year in a row thanks to their five-point win over Swanlinbar from Cavan on Sunday, but Doohamlet’s Ulster IFC bid fell short when they lost narrowly to Lisnaskea of Fermanagh in Saturday’s final. Meanwhile, Clontibret’s minors lost out to a strongly fancied Kilcoo team from Down in the Ulster Club Minor Football Championship first round in Belfast on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-8.
