Shauna Finnegan named”Camogie Player of the Year”
Shauna Finnegan from the Clontibret Camogie Club was aptly named “ Camogie Player of the Year” at the G.A.A. Convention in the Hillgrove Hotel on Thursday last.
Shauna aged 20, a hair stylist in Monaghan town has played camogie with her club Clontibret from Primary school right through the grades and can boast having achieved (6) Monaghan Senior Championship medals, (1) All County League, (1) Division 2 Armagh League and more recently acclaimed the ultimate: an All Ireland Junior B Championship medal when she played with the County side when they defeated Cavan in Donaghamore, Ashbourne, Co Meath back in August. She was also named “ Player of the Match”in the Championship Final in September when her club, Clontibret defeated Inniskeen
Consistency of Attendance at both training and matches for the County, positive attitude and effort were some of her many traits which attributed to her accolade. The County Board congratulates Shauna and wish her every success in the future.
County Convention
Weather permitting, The Camogie Board will once again aim to get the Convention underway on Sunday next 19th. March starting @ 12 noon in the Enterprise Centre, Castleblayney. The storm put paid to the initial meeting and if the weather forecast is accurate for this coming weekend we might need to get the “Huskeys”geared up.
Hopefully all positions will be filled on Sunday next and clubs are again reminded to bring along all monies and cards for the Annual Draw which will take place at the Convention.
Congratulations
Congratulations to County Camogie player Lorraine Mc. Kenna and Kevin on the birth of their new Baby girl, Alicia.
A new camog for the Truagh Camogie team!
