Gaelic Life Competition- Scoil Éanna are the only school in county Monaghan taking part in this year’s Gaelic life competition to win €1000 worth of sports equipment and are looking for your help. All that has to be done is to collect the tokens over the next three Fridays which appear in the Gaelic Life Magazine. There were also tokens in last week paper if you still have it! Then please return them to any pupil or teacher in Scoil Éanna. All your help will be greatly appreciated.
Award Day- On the 5th of June we will be holding an awards night in the Pearse Brothers centre on the night the Senior and Junior B players of the year for the 2009 season will be handed out as well as the Hall Of Fame award. Admission on the night will be 10 euro with food served and music on the night. Earlier in the day we are hosting a match between a mixture of players from down through the generations. Anybody who is interest or knows anyone interested in taking part should Contact Emmet McAviney on 086 388 8847.
Foundation Level Coaching- There is a foundation level coaching and child protection coarse taking place on either of the following dates depending on the numbers, the course can be run over a Fri 18th (7pm-10pm) & Sat 19th (9:30am – 4:30pm) June or over 3 Monday evenings 14th, 21st & 28th June (7pm-10pm). It will be the last chance this season to get your certificate so anybody interested or has any questions please contact Cillian on 086 736 8078
Paddy Kerr Retirement Function- This Friday the 28th of May a function to mark the retirement of Paddy Kerr will take place in the Pearse Brothers Centre at 9.30pm tickets will be available at the door on the night. The Ballybay Pearse Brothers Club would like to wish Paddy a long and enjoyable retirement.
Senior Team Fixture- We play Clontibret in a star match on Sunday morning at 12.30 in Pearse Park. The game has great importance with both teams in need of the points to get out of the lower end of the table.
Junior B Match- The B‘s had a good win on Sunday night over Aughnamullen in a sunny Pearse Park, the game was played in good spirits throughout which allowed for some fine football from both teams with Ballybay putting in a strong second half performance to win on a scoreline of Ballybay 2.10 Aughnamullen 0.09
Under 14 News- The under 14‘s are very busy at the minute with two games in the past couple of days beating Inniskeen on Saturday morning by 6 points, the boys were unlucky to lose out to Cremartin on Tuesday night on a scoreline of Ballybay 1.09 Cremartin 2.07. On Tuesday night at 7 we play Eire og check fixture list for venue.
Under 12 News- The under 12‘s are back up and running tonight Thursday night in Pearse Park at 7pm against Aghabog and on Monday night at 7pm against Drumhowan in Pearse Park.
Yoga- Yoga classes are taking place on Thursday nights at 7.30pm, in the Ballybay Pearse Bros. Centre contact Tony on 087 9466030 for more details.
